MY PHILOSOPHY AND MY APPROACH
Your home is your child’s most important classroom and you are their most important teacher.
Parenting isn’t about being your child’s friend – it’s about providing the guidance, structure and support they need to thrive.
Strong families are built on clear values, intentional leadership and a vision for the kind of adults we know our children can become. Parenting requires knowing when to hold on, when to let go, when to seek support and how to model the qualities we want our children to develop.
I will help you clarify a vision for your family based on your core principles and your parenting instincts, strengthen your confidence as a parent, and create a practical roadmap for raising resilient, responsible, and grounded children.
Education & Professional Experience
I have a master’s degree in clinical social work from Columbia University where I studied family systems and family dynamics. One of my years of practicum was at the Jewish Board of Family and Children Services in New York City.
After my teenage son went off track, he attended a character development school in Bath, Maine. I went on to work for that school, helping hundreds of parents understand their job as parents. Eventually, I became Director of Training for a program called Parenting: The Biggest Job We’ll Ever Have, based on the book by the same name and authored by Laura and Malcolm Gauld, and spent almost two decades traveling across the country presenting workshops to public, charter and private schools, corporate groups and community organizations.
